About Alma Šok

I’m Alma, the hands and heart behind Almé Embroidery. I create modern, hand-stitched pieces that bring warmth and personality to everyday life. Based in Montenegro, I blend traditional techniques with clean, contemporary aesthetics—so every stitch tells a story that feels current and timeless.

Whether it’s a custom hoop for a special moment, an elegant monogram, or a detailed botanical motif, I focus on thoughtful details and balanced composition. My aim is simple: bringing a bit of modern embroidery to your life.

For collaborations, commissions, or questions, feel free to reach out—I’d love to hear from you.

What is embroidery?

Embroidery is the art of decorating fabric with needle and thread. Stitches are layered to draw lines, build textures, and form motifs—monograms, florals, borders, or full illustrations. Thread type, stitch choice, and fabric weave all shape the feel of the final piece.

A brief history

The practice spans thousands of years across many cultures: from early decorative repairs and ceremonial garments to richly embroidered textiles across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Techniques like satin stitch, chain stitch, and cross-stitch evolved into distinct regional styles. Today, modern makers blend those traditions with contemporary design—typography, minimal forms, and bold compositions—to create work that feels crafted yet current.
